Safewater Myanmar

Fleur gave a powerful and succinct overview of this excellent project  recently.

Donations are being sought to provide Skyhydrant water filters – this provides safe drinking water for up to 1000 people each day. The skyhydrant filters last for 10 years without the filter cartridge needing to be changed.

Fleur writes,

     “Safewatermyanmar trains “caretakers” on the ground  to look after the filters by doing a daily backwash

and then follow with a monthly schedule to clean with chlorine and citric acid. The first two skyhydrants installed have been operating since 2018. “

Donations are urgently being sought. One filter costs $3,100, and installation costs are $2000.
