ROTARY ACTION GROUP FOR PEACE- highlights many practical ways Rotarians can be peace- builders.

The key to overcome ignorance and arrogance ( is) through education and interaction.. A starting point for education can be as simple as getting people to stop and consciously take note of shared humanity, shared values, and shared goodness…”
Rotary Club Preston has been enriched by its association with #Global Gardens of Peace and recently GGOP co- hosted an event with Sustain: The Australian Food Network #sustain.org.au and GGUP – The Gaza Urban and Peri- urban Agriculture Platform #gupap.org.
Representatives from the JUST FOOD COLLECTIVE www.justfood.org.au and Borderlands www.borderlands.org.au also gave brief overviews of their humanitarian focus. Wonderful! It was an enlightening evening, enhanced by sumptuous food provided by Chef Aheda ( you can follow her on Instagram chef_aheda
Dr Ahmed Abu Shaben, Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics at Al Azhar University Gaza spoke of the resilience and steadfastness of women Agripreneurs in Gaza supporting displaced families, working small- scale farms, harnessing seed banks, and providing community kitchens in amongst a theatre of war.
Rotary Action Group for Peace also points to empathy and compassion as powerful peace building skills, calling for basic respect for all people and the treatment of each other with humanity and dignity.
