As highlighted in our weekly Bulletin by our excellent Bulletin editor, John McCarthy ((affectionately known as “Johnny Mac”) Carol O’Connor, partner of District 9790’s D.G. Stephen O’Connor has nominated this Rotary charity.
Carol writes,” Interplast was originally founded by a Rotarian and a friend back in 1983 who saw the need for expert surgical teams to travel to countries in the Asia Pacific region to perform Plastic and Reconstructive surgeries for those most in need.
To demonstrate my investment in this Partner Project, I have set myself a personal challenge. I played around with numbers of our district, D9790, and have started on a 987 km walk culminating at the District Conference in Albury in April 2025. I will do the walk in about 10km bursts between our District commitments. My hope is to use the walk also for public image for Rotary and Interplast.”
